Work Visa
There are 29 types of visa statuses for foreign nationals to work, study or stay in Japan such as diplomats, business managers, students and others.
The table below shows a partial list of work visa statuses one of which foreign business persons should obtain to work in Japan.

Study Visa
A study visa is a status of residence granted to students studying at Japanese universities, technical schools, and language schools, and it is required to obtain one before studying at these schools. A student can apply a study visa through the school to study and / or a specialist in administrative procedures.
The period of stay is from 6 months to 2 years, which can be extended according to the period of enrollment. The students are exceptionally allowed to work part-time within 28 hours a week by obtaining a special permit.
Application for Certificate of Eligibility (COE) with specific items to be described.
*Okada’s Application Agency License
Okada’s Office (Administrative Procedures) can assist a foreign national to obtain his or her COE based on the applicable status or position of the applicant. As Okada has an Application Agency License, he can make an application for COE without the appearance of the said foreign national to the Immigration Bureau of Japan.
Items to be described in COE application
The main items to be described in the application form of COE are as follows:
・Nationality/Region
・Date of birth
・Marital status
・Occupation
・Home town/city
・Passport: Number, Date of expiration
・Purpose of entry
・Date of entry
・Port of entry
・Intended length of stay
・Accompanying persons, if any
Photograph of the Applicant
A photograph of the applicant is required in the following specifications:
・Size: 4cm long & 3cm wide
・No hat and plain background
・Shooting within 3 months
